Description: Art 1 will include a review of color and design. Students will use their knowledge of colors while painting. The elements of art will be taught and applied in drawing, painting, sculpturing, printing, textiles, lettering, art history, fine crafts, folk art, and building design. Students will also be taught basic techniques in using clay. Students will develop an appreciation of art through observing reproductions, discussing painters and brief written descriptions of famous painters. Projects will be geared to developing the student's own individual creativity while exposing the student to a variety of mediums.

Description: Art 2 is a refinement and perfection of Art 1 techniques and skills, as well as an introduction to new projects, techniques, and skills. New techniques in pottery will be introduced, and time will be allowed for students to experiment for themselves. Individual creativity and art appreciation will be given a chance to develop.

Description: This class is designed for the students who strongly interested in art. There will be assignments, but the student will have more time to express his/her own ideas. Projects will include painting, sculpting, pottery, woodcarving, drawing, printing, textiles, art history, calligraphy, photography, and any project that the student may wish to pursue. A portfolio/showcase will be required at the end of each semester. This portfolio/showcase will include examples of the students work done in and out of class. Teacher permission required.

Description: This class is designed for the very serious art student. It will allow the student to work in the media and any other area that they choose. The student will determine projects with help from the teacher. Students are required to submit a portfolio/showcase at the end of each semester. Teacher's permission is required to be in this class.
