Despite being a rather new inductee into the House of Night Society, Zoey Redbird seems to have fit in quite well. Not only has she obtained the leadership of the ever so elusive Dark-Daughters Society, but she has also obtained an affinity for the five elements as a gift from Nyx.

Best friend and roommate at the House of Night, Stevie Rae is known for her 'Okie' accent and fashion sense. Happy and upbeat, Stevie represents a new breed of Vampyre, featuring red markings on her face as opposed to the typical sapphire markings.

Heath Luck
An avid football player at his high school, Heath Luck has been in a constantly fluctuating romantic relationship with Zoey Redbird since the second grade. Despite his sports career and optimistic personality, Heath drinks often and uses illegal drugs resulting in brief conflicts between Zoey and himself from time to time.
A former leader of the Dark-Daughters, Aphrodite was quickly replaced as leader of the organization after Zoey Redbird began attending the House of Night, causing instant tension between the two. Regardless, the two maintain a shakey truce and remain partial allies.

The only boy in Zoey's group of new friends, Damien is gay and proud of it. He has feminine tendencies, an extensive vocabulary and is in a relationship with fledgling Jack Twist. With an affinity for air, a rarity among male vampyres, Damien is portrayed as wise beyond his years, as well as extremely sensitive, caring and protective of his friends.

Erik Night
Erik is, according to everyone, the hottest fledgling at the House of Night. He is Zoey's boyfriend, a self-proclaimed nerd (the original Star Wars trilogy are his favorite movies), an excellent actor and currently the interim drama professor.
Jack Twist
Jack is Damien's boyfriend and the tech genius of Zoey's friends. Jack used to be Erik's roommate, but now that Erik is a vampyre and Jack inherited the former-James Stark's dog, he lives alone.
